Air Quality

Some of the steps that H.J. Baker is taking to ensure our commitment to the quality of air include:

• Collection systems will be used to capture and control hydrogen sulphide (H₂S)
• A thermal oxidizer that will be used to destroy H₂S and convert it to (SO₂) sulphur dioxide.
• The entire sulphur forming process will be enclosed within a building.
• Conveyors will be equipped with wind covers.

H.J. Baker has completed predictive air dispersion modeling to ensure that all equipment is designed and operated so that emissions fully comply with Alberta’s Ambient Air Quality Objectives (AAAQO).
